diamond- The Creature Chronicles (part one)A Poem by Jack DiamondA bit about the darker side of romance and love
They stand in line to play his game
They remember his smile
They all know his name
Then like a predator of hearts
He soon gets to know them
His cruel blackened dark side, he won’t soon show them
Ignorance is never bliss
When you play high stakes,
In a game like this
They stand in line to hand him a heart
It won’t be long until he tears it apart
But they never see
Their best chance is to flee
He is a puppet master of epic proportion
A charming young vial
Of romantic distortion
Keeping broken hearts,
In a large trophy case
His own is in pieces
A black hole takes its place
Those stupid girls
They should see right through him
They jump in head-first
As if they thought they knew him
His cold selfish antics
Grow ever so old
And I’m here to tell you,
He’s glitter
Not gold
Are you stupid, or blind?
Why can’t you see?
This cruel heartless a*****e,
This creature is me.
This creature’s a beast
In a once human frame
A fellow survivor,
A victim of the game
A once merciful judge
Quick with second chances
Round and round in circles
In most dangerous dances
Now a bit colder,
And a lot more singed
Far more defensive
Deranged and unhinged
Oh you poor thing
You’re not to blame,
Here’s a chip for the table
Come sit…
Play the game
Abandon all hope
Yhe who enter here
The time until you're just like him
Grows
Ever
So
Near
