The Enemy's Days Have Come

The Enemy's Days Have Come

A Poem by Jack Carver

Is it not true that hard times are ahead for us all
That we must pull together if we are to survive
In the name of the Lord we must not have any gall
And dive deep in the waters of our faith; let us dive?

If they say, "Do this!" we must to be honorable men
If they say, "Do that!" we must also to live
For they are men chosen by God to lead us then
Do not be stiff necked but honorable and give

Do not break any laws but be a peaceable kind
For they must try and fail again 'til they call
And cry out to just men of God to lead them blind
As they are like the blinded kids of us all

Be pure and holy for he our Lord is that
Let no sexual sin or thievery be among you
But be pure as the Lord is pure and not a bat
That flies in their faces but coo like a dove says, "Coo,"

Be wonderful not scaring any with your love
And be lovely that they see the error of their ways
But above all be honest for He is your King above
And be patient for he counts his knights and the days

Be excellent as angels swarming to fight
The enemy's angels that come to earth at last
And share where there is need for that is right
As we wait for Gabriel and the trumpet's blast

Be careful whom you praise for the days are short
And there will be many of a cunning kind and sort.
