Death of Jesus Death to SinA Poem by Jack CarverSonnet on the end of sin.
Once I was independent of the law
Then came the law and I began to sin For sin came to life in me because a law I had not known allowed it to begin The promise was that should I live by it I would be good and not do any wrong But I found that promise a lie for I did try it Yet with the good I did not even belong Then the good I would do I did not do my desire But since I do what I don't want to do It is not I who do it for sin in me was higher And I do what I do not want for me or you But Jesus died to take the penalty And sin died at last in me quite handily.
