I Will See you AgainA Poem by Jack CarverWritten in the Holy Spirit"We will my child, we will be together once more.." Then he closed his eyes and moments later exhaled "I will see you again," she smiled to her pores But her ailing heart cried out like birds impaled. She saw him and put her little hand is his Then wrapped her fingers about his pointer digit He looked down and saw the toddler as had he seen this They looked at each the other one legit. They never said a word but he knew and she knew But he knew she knew they were each one complete It happens but it happens to very few In fact they were the only ones to then see it. Her mother a stranger to her now then pulled her away As she disappeared into the crowd of mankind But by chance seven years later they met one day As he lay in his lean to just eating his find They looked as she stopped high on the hill and stared For the instant if took to remember the instant were the same "I know you!" she said, "But I didn't know you cared!" He grunted, she wrapped him in her arms with no shame. Then she saw his eyes that seemed to say, "No one cares!" "What do you mean?" she asked at the very worst For she knew he would die but they knew his life was theirs Then it went as the poet found as it did at first. Then she lay down there next to the lone man's corpse And stretch out like an eagle in flight that spied them from above What happened next exists but when the mind warps Her tiny heart gave out at the last of her love. © 2021 Jack CarverReviews
