Jesus the Healer Then and NowA Poem by Jack Carver
Are you hungry and have nothing to eat right now
The Lord Jesus can give you bread to eat And even some fish all you want to your fill I ask you Jesus feed the hungry ones As you did in the ancients when bread was all they ate But do not work for food that perishes soon But work for food from heaven that is forever So eat the body and the blood of the Christ Are you thirsty then drink the water he gives to you freely Are you blind even since the birth of your days Who has sinned that it might be that way with you all your life? Your mother or father! No it happened so Jesus could heal you. Feel spit and dirt on your eyes that Jesus made and go wash If you were blind but those who say they see have more guilt The works he still does through me prove he came from God He healed a friend that had been dead four days If more than one are healed don't marvel at me For Jesus heals the ones the Father brings The Father is speaking to some of you as you read You have been in a terrible car accident You hurt all over and have injuries Give them up to me. I heal to give Jesus glory. He's bringing a little girl with a toothache that hurts The tooth is one you'll keep and it is healed It hurts no more for it is restored. Thank Jesus. Here's one that might have made you smile or laugh He's bringing one with genital warts to me They are gone now behave yourself in Jesus' name He forgives you for you were saved when a child His child who wandered far from him; return. So give your Jesus thanks and praise from me The plurality of me he means in Hebrew That he might prove that the Father sends him again.
