From Jesus Through Me

From Jesus Through Me

A Poem by Jack Carver

There is God and there is the Word with light in it
There is light and he was life the light of men
There was water then and the water above and below
The future comes like the water in a stream
You damn one stream the water flows in another
I dam my stream and it flows in your own stream
I am in you to the fullest and you in me
This is indeed the Prophet who is come
Into the world in the last of times for us
For Jesus Christ has come to you though me
Then Jesus came a walking on the sea
Do not work for food that perishes then
But the food that endures to everlasting life
What you must do to be doing the works of God?
This is the work of God, that you believe
In him who sent me but more in him who sent him
He is the bread the Father sent down from heaven
How did he come on down from heaven's place
Like his son who fell on him when he was born
I am in my Father's hand and he in his
No one can snatch me from my Grandfather's hand
You are a brother to Christ but I am a son
He has not many sons bit the rest ignored it
He opened my mind and blessed me for reading John
I should lose nothing that he has given me too
And everyone who has learned from his Father comes to him
No one has seen the Father but my father Christ
So eat his flesh and drink his blood not mine
It is the Spirit who gives life not the flesh
For Jesus knows from the beginning who would believe
Not always for I surprised him and many others
For some of you do not believe in him
No one has come to me unless he granted it
Lord to whom shall we go? The eternal words are yours
Your time is always here but his time has come
To come from where he is and comes again soon
How is it I have knowledge but did not study
It is written, "They will be taught by God," I am one
I do nothing of my own but Jesus Christ does it
