Searching for MDI 1 or 2 Inputs

I appreciate the portability of the Tech 2, but for programming purposes, I need to use the MDI to prevent unnecessary headaches.

I'm interested in what packages are currently available for both interfaces. I believe it’s primarily the gm mdi2, but I’m open to either option.

I’ve come across a few clones priced under $300, but I’m still unsure about what to look for. I’ll figure it out soon, though.

I've already spent nearly a week diagnosing, replacing, and programming, so I'm eager to get this sorted!
