Wings of Freedom

Wings of Freedom

A Poem by Jack O
"

A Parallel.

"

This is a response to another's poem.

Not sure anyone will like it. But I wrote it.

Wings of Friendship.

I watch the bright light from the dark tunnel and

I realize that I cannot go on.

I wish I could fly away.

But now all my responsibilities are gone. Those are no more . . .

My dreams of flying are covered by my huge dark mushroom rising into the sky.

I watch as the leaves and then trees bend over from the rush of her pretty winds

My new friend has become a huge tree and its foliage is fire as I stare at it soaring across the world.

Its wings spread so very wide and I blink blind at her so accepting of the advice I am given. . .

I belong, I think as I feel my friend move toward me.

She is a pretty firestorm of acceptance.

I realize she loves me.

I know I love her in return.

I meet my friend and she solves my problems and

Understands me.

We are one in our understanding.

I now smile with a bright white smile as my friend has stroked my shadow upon a tunnel wall.

I will always smile now that my true friend has touched me.
