AM I A PUPPET OR POET?

I live with a family

But I feel I am alone

Though many material things I own

I know, to me, many things are unknown

 

I hope for an honest society

But corruption seems to be a commonality

I want the world to share my pain

And do not always think of my gain

 

I am a humble creature

I don’t have great stature

You may call me a poet or a puppet

But I am surely not a rich man’s pet
