AGoat For GoddessA Poem by Jvl narasimharaoThe goat walks most innocently along the street accompanied by the beating of the drums. The modern man goes in a car with his wife and children The butcher carries a big knife and a cauldron The goat doesn’t know it is going to be slaughtered In a few minutes Its life is going to be battered The Village Goddess eagerly waits for her meat Even the most modern man believes She relishes the treat Many a crime and sacrifice are performed in the name of God Man makes God the scapegoat for all his fraud God simply sits in the Golden temple Man just quotes Him as an example © 2011 Jvl narasimharaoReviews
