WAITING

WAITING

A Poem by Jvl narasimharao

The day waits for the glorious sun

Like the night for the pleasant Moon

In hot summer we fervently wait for rain

In the railway station we wait for the train

Waiting seems to be a part of life

Like a husband waits for his dear wife

On this site we wait for our friends’ poetry

And try to understand their poetic chemistry

Waiting is a part and parcel of nature

That is the beauty of its wonderful feature

The spring longs patiently for the seasonal cuckoo

The trees daily wait for their sunny view

Waiting may cause us some pain

But the pain eventually gives us the desired gain

Let us all wait for our respective great event

And cherish that  beautiful moment

Aahh, the flux of waiting...it seems to haunt us all from time to time. We wait for the seasons to change, the lights to change, the day to turn to night and back to day again...and this becomes the cycle and flow of our lives. I like the way you end this piece, with the idea that waiting will eventually lead to moments of cherished beauty. Nicely done.

Another beautifully written poem that contains a huge message to its readers. I loved it. I like how you use nature to help us see life with its positives and negatives...and you do it beautifully. Brilliant work.

your patience is certainly a virtue
waiting never seemed so desirable until reading this
delayed gratification perhaps makes the satisfaction greater.

yes! when the waiting multiplies, more fruitful will the meeting and that 'meeting' certainly renews the strength. A philosophical piece with beauty in its simplicity.

Exquisite piece of writing! The poem just flowed through my mind with the smooth and easy nature of a gentle stream. Waiting builds up and makes the object of our seeking all that much sweeter when the long awaited rain or wife or train arrives. I absolutely enjoyed this wonderful write.

Life is filled with such waiting and wanting... and you've given us a profound glimpse inside ourselves. May we not wait in vain, but find a joy in that journey.

I very much like your message here. We, at least we in America, have become a very impatient society. We want everything now. We have forgotten that patience is a virtue.

Technically ... Since you wrote the poem, you hear it perfectly in your mind's ear because you know exactly how it's supposed to sound. I struggled a bit to read the poem because I did not know where the stops and pauses were supposed to be. A common misconception is that the end of a line indicates a pause in a poem. This is not the case and so, we the reader REALLY need punctuation to know how you want us to read your poem. Think of it as a road map.

And I voice an agreement as to how "waiting" may impact our lives in various ways as you express in your very nicely penned poem. I particularly note the way you note getting to know and understand other writer's poetic chemistry. It often amuses me how we can't wait for an event to happen that ends all too soon, how as children, we cannot wait to grow up, but as we are "here", we would sometimes desire to return to the wonderful bliss of childhood.
I appreciate your efforts and ability to entertain this poetess of multiplicity!
Well done!!
