A GOOD ENGLISH TEACHER

Who is a good English teacher?

What should be his real stature?

Does he have resonating voice?

In the class does he not allow any noise?

 

What is the best method to teach?

To the children how should his lesson reach?

Should he explain everything in detail?

can he allow the learners to sit in groups for a trail?

 

If his children can not speak,

In his teaching might there be a leak?

Or the grasping of the students is rather weak?

Which alternative must he inevitably seek?

 

When most of the students can not read,

The class how can he interestingly lead?

How can he sow the “learning seed”?

What should he do to improve their reading speed?

 

As a practicing English teacher, I ask these questions myself?

I hope from unexpected quarters I might get help

Anyhow, teaching English to non-native speakers is a big ask

If the teacher is also a non-native speaker , it might become a more complicated task

Teaching English when English is not your native language certainly would be a task. I have been a teacher myself, to people with special needs. I had to design a method for each pupil.

All very valid questions, but the truth is, every situation is different. A good teacher "reads" the class and figures out how best to get through to them. Innovative teaching techniques work with some groups and not with others. The fact that you ask these questions means, in my mind, that you are a good English teacher.
