POETIC CROWN

POETIC CROWN

A Poem by Jvl narasimharao

I don’t want to remain a foolish clown

But I do like to wear the poetic crown

I no longer write my verse

And will surely be redeemed from my friends’ curse

I have more than two thousand poems to read.

The task is Herculean,  they may plead

Everyday I have to make a reading century.

This will certainly add to my linguistic repository.

Writing may make an exact man

But reading makes me a different human

I will know the nuances of my friends’ poems

They will spread out their resplendent beams

I won’t scribble any poem for thirty days

My poetic friends may wonder at my strange ways

And doubt  the veracity of my emotional sayings.

But I will enjoy their delightful musings

Reading other poets' works helps us grow not only as writers, but as people. Sometimes, though, it does seem like a Herculean task, doesn't it? I liked the rhyming in this one and the expression of honest emotion. Lydi**

excellent JVL, puts me in mind of how I feel when I find a bunch of read requests and I just want to write. :)

"I don’t want to remain a foolish clown
But I do like to wear the poetic crown"
Someone once told me. You are the best writer. I thank them and told them there is a million and more better then me. There is room for many kind of writers and thoughts. Each of look at life with our own view. I like the thoughts and the ending. I write new poems rarely. My life is very busy and I know some peace and calm. The problems of our world make me desire to write. Too much death and violence. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

If you can read two thousand poems, you will certainly wear the poetic crown. But your friends will miss your own musings.
