A TEXT BOOK AND AN ENGLISH TEACHER

A text book makes you

Think  onlyof its size, font,

Colour, illustrations

Lessons, exercises and so on.

 

But a text book is much more.

It’s the hard toil of the writer,

Co-coordinator, Editor, chief Editor,

DTP  operator, copy reader and the Director.

 

A teacher shouldn’t depend on it like a crutch

 Like an old man He can’t rely on it  too much

s/he  should consider it just an aid

S/he has to think very wide

 

Neither LCD nor OHP can supplant a teacher

They can only supplement his great stature.

An English teacher should make his child construct discourses

S/he  must enhance all his academic and intellectual resources

Books, books, books....can we ever have enough of them I ask, but it is not the book that is of value, but how we use the book to teach us. We must be open to learning, allow it to feed us with knowledge, use it as we are able..........then a book is of positive use. If we do not read it with discernment, then it is just a collection of words.

I love all books. I have a thousand books I collected in my life. When I died. No-one will have concern for them. I collected the great authors and my favorites. I have many text books on history. I like to research what i write about. I enjoyed your thoughts. Books have value to teachers and wise people. Thank you for the excellent poem.
