HISTORY OF MAN

This poem is based on Srirangam srinivarao's telugu poem YE CHARITHRA CHUSINA (SRI SRI).It is not a mere translation..The poem is dedicated to him and poor form whom he always thought and wrote

                    History of  man

  Each history of man is replete

 with colonization

and exploitation of the poor.

There is nothing ever to be proud of.

 

Everybody wonders at the grandeur

of the beautiful Tajmahal.

But who thinks of the sweat and the toil of

the coolies who lifted the marble and chiseled it.?

 

Everybody praises the beauty

 and handsomeness of the bride and the groom.

But who listens to the rhythmic whopping

of the  palanquin bearers?

 

Everybody relishes the delicious

Dishes and curries at lunch and supper

hosted by a wealthy man or woman.

But who knows the burning heat

Experienced by the poor cook and his helpers?

 

Every rich  person enjoys flying in a flight.

But no body knows the plight of a pilot.

History, modern or ancient, is the same.

The poor and the innocent have to bear the shame.

The poem tell the truth. USA is one of worst countries comparing rich to poor. Less then 3% are living well. Everybody else is riding the edge or poor. Whole world is on a bad turn. Rich people losing everything. Getting help from governments while poor are still poor. Would be nice for the the rich to feel the hunger of the poor and needy. Thank you for the outstanding poor. Last line is the fact of life for our world.

Exploitation is wrong. But not all poor are virturous. Not all rich oppress. I fear I do not have a social conscience.
