Had My Chance

Memories needing expression for some reason.

It's true I never said it to you.

How your eyes looked so beautiful when wearing the color blue.

You were a first, a friend I loved and was drawn to.

But I didn't know it until the situation was one I couldn't undo.

we never spoke of it, I wasn't like that and neither were you.

But I would stare at you whenever I laced my shoe.

we were kids and I so confused.

I didn't know what I would lose...

... I didn't get the chance to choose.

It was chaos inside to not even know there were emotions I'd hide.

Not from you, but from me. Loving you was some hidden side.

sure we were friends, maybe that was where it should have had it's end.

But I'll never know, these are feeling and thoughts, the letter I'll never send.

...I won't get the chance to mend.

I denied that idea, that I could love a girl.

I realized after the fact and my world came unfurled.

If I only actually knew I could have asked, I could have "gave it a whirl".

When you took off your glasses I could feel then you could be my world.

... I had my chance...
