Our Day

Our Day

A Poem by John the Baptist
"

A meditation on the meaning of individual lives

"
Let us ever bless
Our day,
*
Though none may know
We passed this way;
*
For this small flame, this
Fragile fire,
*
Did yet attest to something
Higher.

Author's Note

John the Baptist
Though our individual lives may seem bland or dysfunctional, they are in fact the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Thanks. Sometimes the most meaningful ideas can be briefly stated.
So true John, we never know what impact we may have had for good or bad. A beautiful and deep thought well expressed.

I really enjoyed this. I am a firm believer that we, no matter how insignificant we think we are, we are important to everything and everyone we come in contact with. It all matters and it all means something.
