Woman And her Piano

Woman And her Piano

A Story by Sixth Moon
"

I thought about what a women pianist would dream of during a little nap. :)

"

One drifty evening, a Woman lays comfortably on white pearl colored couch wearing a silky linen cloth that wraps around her body like new lotioned skin. She sleeps soundly In her sun room facing the backyard of her house with a Glamour magazine on the 13th page titled “ Piano concert featuring Aria Ortiz”. The sunroom faces the forest view which is quite magnificent today. The sun is softly gleaming over the horizon today. The trees don't seem to mind this at all. The weather is just right in a 68 degree tone. Everything seems to have a mild brown tint today and as if there was a brown silky film over the sky today. It enters the sun room passionately playing in her braided hair and loafing facial skin. The breeze is very fluid and flows in and out the lungs of every creature bringing new life.....slowly breathing it in she suddenly starts..................................

Dreaming ….. She walks towards a white door with light violently bursting out the cracks. She courageously walks and she hears her foot steps stomping calmly towards the light and finds her self wearing black heels. Then she slightly raises her arm and notices her wearing diamond bracelet reflected into her eyes. Her dress is a silky brown-earth tone gown with black tiger stripped that look liked claws from darkness flowing from the bottom- up. The dress fitted her so beautifully. If Glamour Magazine were there they would want her to be on the cover, it matched her brown glowing eyes that glisten as placed one foot in front of the other.

She gives out a big “SIGH” and opens the door. The door opens with smoothly as she sees her self in front of a large black opera size piano. There is a crowd of over a thousand people greeting her with a thunder clap of applause. She opens her mouth in awe and slowly walks towards the piano overwhelmed by the warm crowd. She doesn’t see them but she’ knows they are they. She feels the spiritual energy from each and every seated person giving her the power to play their favorite song. She grabs her piano seat and pulls it out. then sits down. In her head she is thinking “I can do this” “They came here to see me, I am going to make my night and their’s the best night ever”. As the crowd slowly simmers down from the standing ovation the only sound she hears is her mind talking to her.

She didn’t care why she was there in front of the crowd she knew there was something she needed to do and ...She lets out a big deep breathe and all her worries, fearfulness, doubting, and self-defeating antics go with that one deep exhale begins to play. . She doesn’t hear the song but she sees her hands moving automatically and gracefully places each finger across the keys. One key after another, her nails seems to give off a flickering light every time she places a finger on the piano keys. She slowly begins to hear the song she has been playing, not through her ears but her heart seems to have the ear drum.

Her spirit attentively guides her physical body as if she was taking over by a puppet master, and all she had to do was just breathe. After nine graceful minutes of joyous piano play everything suddenly slowed in motion. As if time didn’t exist for just one second. She realizes she has done it. A sudden warm heart felt tear rolls down her cheek and falls on to the key. The other tears followed and began to slowly fall from each eye as if water fall pouring from her face. She hears the crowd giving her an even more brilliant applause. Even louder than before, she then seizes to hear the crowd all she could sense was peace, quiet sunset sending the world into a night harmony, ending the day of chaos. She feels so satisfied and accomplished what she thought was not able to be achieved. She tried so hard to get up to bow but she could not. Her tears wouldn’t stop coming and it felt as if all her weight had rushed to her head as she lays her head on the folded arms she place across the piano.

The crowd still continued on, as they get louder and louder… ………. She  rests her head on  to of her arms crying then she suddenly.……………, wakes up…….. as an ascending voice tickled her ear….…”Wake up and come in “says a Man. “It’s storming out here and its getting pretty loud, we have to get the leaky roof fixed because your covered in water.” She finds herself drenched and laying on the floor. She has fallen off the couch lying on her arms with her butt dangling in the air. “You must have had a good sleep to fall out the couch like that”. He says, She looks at the Man and says “Yea it was the best dream I ever had”. The man throws out his hand and she takes his hand and smiles. As she smiles back he caresses her hand slowly and gives her a small towel and kisses her on the forehead. We better hit the shower huh” He says sarcastically.

She replies “You know it, I have a tune that I can sing to you”. He leaves her and races up to the bathroom and scurries to takes his clothes off. “Ill be waiting for you up there.” As he runs off .She picks up her magazine, and slowly goes into the living room of house as it the raging but nothing out of the ordinary storm rushes over the town. She picks up the magazine and she notices a quote on one of the pages says “Life is but a dream”.
