Understanding the meaning of parting is such sweet sorrow

Parting is such sweet sorrow, though I never gave it much thought

I was never a romantic or worried about words before now

But the more time I spend with you the more these words ring true

I miss you when we are apart, even if it is just a few hours

You are always in my thoughts from when I wake until I sleep

And then even later when you come to visit me

The time I think about you is more than any other

I can’t believe that we have made it to this point

While you cannot say the words I am dying to hear

I know that deep down they are there and you hold back

One day I hope you are free to release the emotions within

So you can join me in the feeling I feel

That the love I have for you is very real

While we have not met in the flesh

I feel that we know each other in a much deeper level

More deeply than anyone else around us

Yet we continue to remain apart

The day will come when this will not but true

But for now I have learned to appreciate a phrase
