Blue Jersey Skies

Blue Jersey Skies

A Poem by Dream Weaver

Under “blue Jersey’ skies I walk little by

little down a vague path of empty angst

unavoidable and for certain.

My subsistence can be humbling despite

the fact that years explode with such

swiftness now. Failing health and no

purpose to contribute to a society that’s no

longer cares about the aging gray hairs.

Still I stand independently, proud

precocious with unassisted breathing,

look at me I’m still a person walk with

me what could it hurt?

I once was an unpretentious man, searching

for lost souls that were once filled with hope

passion and exceptional dreams, now I search

for another pain free day.

Withering with every sunset yet drawn

to each dawn I pray, praying for every minute

everyday that there has to be something more

under “blue Jersey” skies

So touching. I wonder if it has always been this way - this "society that’s no
longer cares about the aging gray hairs." - or is it worse than before in modern day?
Beautifully written as always and portraying a very sad truth.

"My subsistence can be humbling despite
the fact that years explode with such
swiftness now." Nice language in that line.

There's a desperation for something more under those "blue Jersey" skies.
