Incantations

Incantations

A Poem by Dream Weaver

Free me from my inner demons who

cheerfully gnaw at my soul, acerbate in

my delusions opposed to self-control

I am all that I shall ever be.

No holy incantations, vice verses virtue’s,

soon to be a sinner among imaginary saint’s.

I worship my lustful behavior, though

many disagree when threatened with

morality.

I cannot and will not violate your space

unless you invite me to do so. The pungent

aroma of sensual arousal gives me the go

ahead to relieve you of what you and I

require.

Free from my demons but no closer to a

saint, I will entice you as you’ve enticed me.

I am your salvation as you are my fuel, a fuel

that burns hotter longer vividly intense.

Will you lay down your arms, be free of all

inhibitions. Only then shall you express

what it is to truly be free.

The last stanza makes a powerful statement. The flow of this poem is easy to follow. We are all sinners even when our inner demons are destroyed. True freedom is when we no longer care what "society say we must do or be" but when we live our lives as the people we are enjoying every moment we have on this earth. I love the expression in this poem and the truth to the poem
