Inflicted

Inflicted

A Poem by Dream Weaver

I don’t know when it started, but I

must have came on strong, I guess

it’s too late to apologize, my darling

I was wrong.

You treated me with love and respect

gave the world to me on a platter,

yes I see what you’ve done for me

now irrelevant it doesn’t matter.

You deserve much better than me

and I in this empty bed, you will go on

to find true love, while I find loneliness

instead.

I dream of you and what could of

been, a life of happiness every now

and then. Still I only want the best for

you, I wish I could take back all the

pain I’ve inflicted upon you.

"in the books" oh, isn't that the truth... especially with writers where they always end up in books. (little joke)

i like how you rhymed the lines when the 'mood' is sad. It keeps the poem from becoming depressing. As if you are sad but you won't let it control you. You're regretful. Nice job.
