Insidious

Insidious

A Poem by Dream Weaver

You’ve beaten me down for the
very last time, just a punching bag
for your insidious crime.

You my
master and I your slave,

you always
took while I always gave.

Dominating and cruel you’re a spawn
from hell, weaving your magical
mystical spell.

These chains I wear
no longer bind me, broken free of
them satan get thee behind me.

No more struggle no more pain
just satisfaction of the life I’ve
regained.

I pity you and all that you do,

for now it is I
instead of you.

Old and callous your feeble

and frail rotting behind bars

in the county jail.

Years of abuse and apologies

your worthless and weak now

everyone sees.

Crafty indeed ... I also believe that treacherous/insidious lovers are quite subtle and can gradually take over your self-worth but knowing when to step out of the ring is half the battle won .. ... Finally seeing others for who they really are CAN happen quickly without rhyme or reasons .. No details required ... Your gut says it all.. This poem illustrates that notion !! Free at last ~~~ LLR

the structure made it a little difficult to read but the concept and rhyming are great!

Have you put thought into your line breaks?
I feel this could be more powerful with well thought out line breaks.

Also, maybe you should elaborate on what made you change from the slave to a dominant person?
