Apocalyptic Road

Apocalyptic Road

A Poem by Myblindeye
"

The result of driving for too many hours without an adequate amount of rest. I became delirious and dragged into a state of deep thought.

"

Roads wind and unravel and they all look the same to me.

Time passes so slowly, minutes seem like hours to  me.

My mind races and slows and repeats,.

My eyes begin to blur and they ache.

I have only myself to keep me company.

I am fading and falling asleep.

I need something to keep me awake.

These lines yellow and white change through the ever winding road.

Fields and fields that line these roads fade to dark.

The time is not on my side on this journey.

Please carry me along through this winding road that leads me to nowhere.

Any comments would be appreciated. I don't know if I would call this a poem so if anyone could give me an insight on what kind of writing this would be considered that would be great. It was just something that I wrote after a long drive From Florida to Iowa and it seemed like the drive would never end. Thanks!

Powerful and beautiful! There is an extra comma or period after "slows and repeats". Also, I suggest commas for "these lines, yellow and white, change..." I love this poem!
