A LOVE STORY

the revelation

 

they were lovers several years ago

when the world still had mystery

she had blue crystals in a field of snow

and a fire lay down beneath

she taught him all about human loving

and in the light of all his fails,

he decided to take some lessons again

memories came back when it rained

like when her first came into her restaurant

cause he wanted to dry for a while

she gave him coffee and free donuts

she never treated him like a child

she wanted someone to talk to

and he wanted a chance to listen

she told him stories till a quarter to 2

he rarely blink but often grinned

her sense of humor made the time fly

she wore the scars on her heart well

he asked if he could stay the night

when she said yes he was scared as hell

he was in love but she wasn't sure

he was too young and restless to count on

he had to admit he had more to learn

so he bought a rig and headed for the sun

now he's come back to check on the flame

is it still warm or has it waned

he bowed his head and spoke in tongues

a deep voice and an accent she would know

he ordered in the lingo of restaurant land

but her heart gave away the show

she laughed with tears and he just smiled

she said its been so many years

they sat and talked for the longest while

over champagne and then some beers

it was hard for the to stay together then

but now love is a revelation
