This is a detailed companion piece to the much shorter "war". The point of both writes is to comment on the human travesty we call war. Too many people think violence is the answer to their ills.
Better to create confusion than fix your own problems. We are led by multimillionaire who will not increase taxes on the rich. Biggest lobbyist are war contractors. Right now we have too much government. We need to downsize the federal government and allow the states to run their business. The states leaders do a better job. I like the way you make your point in the blog. It would be nice if leaders had concern for the people. Create jobs and fix the USA. Internal conflicts of other parts of the world is not our business. Arab countries are wise and ancient people. In the end. The bad folks will pay.

You have put your collage together with great impact. Yes indeed, wouldn't It be lovely! But I have a feeling that the ideal will never be reached here on earth. Perhaps we have to wait for our 'next life' for that! But there are lots we can do here on earth ,to make things better.

While I cannot agree with everything this piece implies, I have to respect its poignancy.
Man, in his infinite arrogance, has and will always feel the need for riches and power, then more power, and because of this, we would not be where we are (the US) if we didn't act on certain injustices. "When you're #1 there's nowhere to go but down," and someone would've have brought us down a lonnng time ago. The concept is valid, however...That said, Wouldn't it be nice if EVERYONE in the world were "real" Christians and just did the right thing!

so true, I feel your work showed and respected that
I agree with you on many levels, but disagree with you on just as many. War (conflict) is a natural occurrence for man. It's not like war was created by the U.S., war has been going on since the dawn of time. You nicely laid out your points. Good work!

I see you convictions here in the lines...but a nation who has been fighting, since day one...continues to do so for what is freedom...if not war...the walls of the free world...everyone looks at the USA as the epitome of what is freedom...that's the heart of it all...nothing is fair...freedom must be protected...if not on common soil...then in other countries...no government is a utopia...they all fall and rise again...Wouldn't it be nice to live forever...also...but we all fall in the end...only to start over...

So then, in your opinion, is war an ideal way for man to settle differences as long as the excuse is that freedom is being protected? What about the freedom of the lives lost to collateral damage? Now, there are no easy answers, but wouldn't it be nice if man could settle differences without violence and with love for one another?

It sure makes me wonder sometimes if I really want to be part of the human species? We are so flawed as a group. It is good to know the individuals who are the exception to the group! Some humans are pretty darn good!
This is an absolutely amazing presentation - words tied in with the horrifying facts really open my eyes to the reality of war, how many wars we have been involved in, and why we should not be moving forward with another altercation!
Thank you for taking time to write this! I can tell you have put your heart and soul into it!!
And the video is perfect - yes, just imagine - Wouldn't it be nice, wouldn't it be lovely - even a decade or two without war would be wonderful! I cannot imagine how many lives would be saved!
I am sharing this with my friends as I feel they will find it as impressive as I have!
A favorite for my library - I don't want to forget this one!!

It is unfortunate that man seems to have this innate tendency toward violence. It must be built into our genetic makeup. It is good that not all people settle their differences with war. If we could settle them with binding arbitration the world could be a better place! The real problem is if the civilized world agreed to this approach, what do you do about the megalomaniacs that show up on history's doorstep? It is nice to think that the ideal is possible! Imagine.
