This write presents the facts from UNICEF! How can our world of humanity allow this senseless and unnecessary slaughter to take place? Where is the progress?
I agree. I heard someone stating this fact on TV. I thought what if this was your child dying of starvation, lack of water or sickness? I went to Africa for President Clinton with food, water and medicine mission. The suffering of some regions would break your heart. If we spend 10% of the war budget on food, water and medicine. Great things could be accomplished. Thank you for your thoughts on a important topic.

Very moving, I have been trying to create visual art pieces about issues like the one you have illustrated here. Great poem!

You may like this. It's religious (I don't know if you are)-- very powerful. Its about how ignoring the helpless poor is murderous.

I don't understand. Fewer children are dead. Isn't this progress?

Progress for me would be little or no deaths of innocent children on a daily basis due to a lack of potable water or poor hygiene. Man has the technology to fix this, but not the global political will that's needed. Thank you for reading the poem.

We have a responsibility to help fulfill the needs of our brothers and sisters and there are many ways we may do so. As you reflect in your words above, it appears we are not doing enough! We must unite with our concerns from country to country until we have circled the globe to come together to solve the needs of those who suffer - save our children who are without food and water, provide shelter to those who have not, and to give hope to those who have not a way to live another tomorrow! As a Lady of Love, I add the everlasting need for unconditional LOVE!
Thank you for bringing attention to these dire needs of humanity!
