Sweet Bears - Riana, the Rainbow Bear's Wintery Christmas EveA Poem by Jennifer Neale"Riana, the Rainbow Bear's Wintery Christmas Eve" is the second book in the Sweet Bears Series. Riana, the Rainbow Bear describes in detail her and her family's activities leading up to Christmas Day.Sweet Bears Riana, the Rainbow Bear's Wintery Christmas Eve Riana, the Rainbow Bear, is as cute as can be, who wears pretty dresses, and likes to drink tea. Her colourful, bright personality lights up any room, and she loves to watch the nearby flowers, grow to full bloom. Her kind, loving nature, makes her a good friend, who is always reliable, and never offends. Riana lives with her dad Oscar and Mum Jewel, who are both fit, healthy, yet a little old school. Mum Jewel is a painter, full of warmth and flair, with the ability to create ideas, out of thin air. Dad Oscar is a baker, at nearby Sweet Delight, Making delicious cakes and cupcakes, which are incredibly lite. Christmas was approaching, in wintery Sweetville, where crisp, white, powdery snow, was causing quite a chill. However, Riana's Christmas was full of happiness, and holiday fun, and the Christmas preparations were second to none. The all-important Christmas tree was the first on the list, to create a masterpiece, with mum Jewel to assist. Elegantly decorated, the Christmas tree stood proud, as high as the ceiling, yet did not overcrowd. The beautiful, spiky green branches of the Christmas tree, gave each other bear hugs, and hung with such glee. The all-important star, shined brightly at the top, while the tinsel and ornaments, were wrapped tightly to never drop. The warmth of the fireplace lit up the room, as the Christmas stockings hung down, with candy canes to consume. Riana wished for only a few things this year, with the first being a King Charles Cavalier. Next on the list was a camera and ballet shoes, so she can take ballet lessons, and photos to amuse. Outside, in the cold, white, beautiful snow, Christmas Carolers sung Christmas Carols, we all love and know. Children and adults gathered, to see the dazzling light display, followed by a huge snowball fight, started by a friend called May. Snowmen were made, with pebbles for eyes, and carrots for noses, which were a little pint-size. After the carols, snow fights, and snowman making, Riana and family decide to start some traditional baking. Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookies, were baked to perfection, along with a gingerbread house, made using strict instructions. Cinnamon Stars and Candy Cane Bark, were made for the very young at heart. Riana made paper garlands, to entertain her family, by writing Christmas wishes on each, and folding inside nicely. Someone would later pick a garland to choose, and then ask family members to guess the wish, with no clues. "A Christmas Carol", is one of Riana's favourite movies, which was enjoyed, along with popcorn, and egg nogg smoothies. Tonight, Riana will be dreaming of Santa and his red sleigh, with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, leading the way. Following Rudolph is Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. Climbing up and down chimneys, without making any noise, Santa will deliver toys, to all the good girls and boys. Santa Clause is a jolly, old man, who is giving, caring, and spreads joy where he can. Santa has a beard, as white as a sheet, with a red suit, white gloves, and black boots on his feet. A black belt is used, to hold his pants up, and his red, floppy hat, is as cute as a pup. For Santa's arrival, Riana and family leave cookies and milk, along with carrots for the reindeer, wrapped in pretty red silk. Fading off to sleep, however, Riana comes to realise, she had forgotten to put out the milk, cookies, and carrots, to her surprise. "So sorry Santa", said Riana with a tear, "I guess i will have to wait until next year".
