The Forbidden Love

This story of this love that was prohibited tells an unfortunate yet tragic tale, a man who meets a woman slightly older than him. They are absolutely right for each other but also completely wrong for each other as well.

Zahir, comes from a powerful Muslim family, who have taken part of arranged marriages for since the start if their generation. Kannika comes from a very traditional Buddhist family, who don't want the interest of her marrying someone outside of their faith.

One complication has happened, Zahir's family has arranged for his marriage with another Muslim girl without his knowledge or his consent, afraid that his love with Kannika could cost him, his family, families tradition, his faith and so on.

It comes to the day where he has to make a decision, where he either has to choose his love for Kannika or his family. This is the forbidden love, Zahir must now abandon for a love he is yet to meet. It is all a big roller coaster track for Zahir and not to mention dear Ol' Kannika.

Kannika decided to take a big step, and that step involves telling her parents about Zahir and just hoping for their blessings for their relationship. Her father is then horrified by what Kanniak has told him, in shock and disbelief he threatens to disown her if she carries on with this ‘nonsense‘.

Her mother told her that it was just a passing phase and she'll get over it and find someone else who will actually suit her.

Zahir would not even dare or even have the courage to tell his family, but see it as though he owes Kannika for it. He tells his father first, his father is just sickened by the idea and had a look on his face as if he was offended! and he just constantly reminded him that he should  not dare to disgrace his families name like that. Even though there was a barricaded high wall in their relationship, restricting their love, they choose to see each other against their families instructions.

And just when things couldn't get any worse then they are now, Kannika's father gets a new job in a different country, meaning Kannika and her family must now follow him wherever he goes. Also meaning Kannika will be 16 hours 32 minutes and 2 seconds away from Zahir.

As of now, there are many reasons that have developed for them for not to be together, but would that even stop them? Is true love really as strong as everyone says it is? Will true love keep them together or end up breaking them apart?
