A Purpose Please

A Purpose Please

Devoid of purpose here I sit,
afraid to challenge lifes own wit
Content to muddle with the crowd,
sometimes hidden sometimes loud

Lost in culture not of me,
following others three by three
Left right left right left right left,
of real purpose my lifes bereft

Following crowds like crowds before,
until it cometh deaths final door
Too late too late please sir more time,
I'll give up ciggies beer and wine

I'll love my kids and do more good,
be a loving partner like I should
Just one more chance sir for me to prove,
I can escape life's indulgent groove

But no! it sounds all round the room,
as swept up by lifes average broom
You took your chances had your time,
you did not treat this life divine

You had the warnings and knew the game,
but now it's others you do blame
For you there's no eternity,
you hadn't taken responsibility

For your actions un-chosen course,
not helping others no remorse
Lifting high those so far below,
moving far those so scared to go

Pushing those still frozen so,
showing others which way to go
For life fulfilled is only whole,
when helping others achieve their goal

So set sights high upon your dream,
to in lifes eye help others gleam
For on lifes stage we all must play,
and every soul will have their day

So go and get it and never fret
or left you'll be with just regret.
