The Cat Flap
Around the floor perplexed they sat,
for through the flap would not the cat
Monsieur Poirot he firmly sat,
for was he not to him a normal cat
That flap they put to access my mat
is made for one quite ordinary cat
Now all will tell from just my name,
I'm not a simple cat to tame
From stock I come like royalty
and as such do I deserve a key
To lock me out without one so,
will I'm afraid force me to go
To those appreciative of one so fine,
on which the finest fish to dine
My coat must have its daily brush,
my bed must be so incredibly lush
You'll attention give when permission granted,
and snack and treats about be planted
To keep me as I must be kept,
will allow me occasionally to let you pet
As in the way I am accustomed too,
will make life most easy for you
And no amount of here kitty cat,
will entice me through an ordinary flap
So insist I must for my own key,
or disposed I'll be to set me free
Monsieur Poirot
