Subtle Change

Subtle Change

A Poem by John M. Hammond
"

Work in progress...maybe?

"

Thoughts reflected, complicated by—endless

waiting—for a sign that things are changing

within the relationship: warm and filled with life

threatening to open up wounds considered long-healed.

(Necessary distance: (given) rise to hope for a better

solution) to the complications of this disastrous

venture; lying awake at night entertaining the infinite

potential of the intertwined (choice or fate?).

Skipping ahead to fleeting reward: impossibly

virtuous patience—non-existent, (deaf to pleas of

immediacy, urgency—urging) the day to give way to

the night giving way to day: endless, perpetual.?

The Tree of Life cries out (to/for nourish)ment

the leaves withering—branches hunching, craving

brilliant photosynthesis: atoms attached to atoms

whisper their secret knowledge across galaxies.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a review where I just inhaled pure brilliancy
and haven't the words to say what I feel;
I just want to sit back and recollect the motions throughout;
ever present, ever changing, but solid, like the truth in these words,
the wound is non existent; the hurt is only the yearning,
I'm forever learning
that love is the whole of wholeness,
and sweet love is the being in my being.
