HumanA Poem by J.MintonI wrote this as the stages of cheating particularly influenced by Beyonce's Lemonade.Love is a union, an idea, an amalgamation of two bodies and two souls into one perfect being. Aristotle himself said that soulmates were one being until Zeus struck them apart, condemning them to search for their other half. What Aristotle didn’t know, However, Was that the two souls can rip apart, Willingly and unwillingly. It was often the Masculine energy who ripped apart their celestial skin, The stronger one of the two. The Feminine could at times, but Masculine was often tempted. So it ripped them apart, Tearing and crushing soul and bond alike. Feminine wept. It knew better. It sensed the corruption seeping into their sacred flesh. Their Intuition was ignored, And now, They, a once supreme being, Were in shatters in the stars. Compromise. So much had been sacrificed for serenity. The natural whole sliced in half for the Supreme, And for what? Death hovered over, Watching and pitying. Losing the will to live after body had been torn viciously. Feminine refused, Able to convince itself that there was no gaping hole, Exposing divine heart to the cruel universe, Slowly blackening and hardening like comets. So brightly Feminine shone, Beautiful and a sign of white omens. Denying the ugliness Masculine left with his tear. Denial became hope, Denial became hatred. Hardened heart, Aura darkening with corruption. Its will to live became a purpose to ruin. Masculinity was the source of all black. Femininity needed to rise, To not bond with other Masculines and risk existing only as half. To be free, to be powerful, to be sole. Feminine’s blood reflected it’s attitude, Tar pouring out the wound like a waterfall. They yelled to the stars, Cursed planets, Condemned moons and meteors alike. Everything was Masculine, Nothing was Feminine. Darkness became hazy, Black lightened into grey. Tar evaporated into nothing. What is love? What is life? Blood is the key? Conscious and Conscience? Chemicals in the brain people choose to give meaning. Revering God for feet on grass. Specks. Particles of mass, Neither created nor destroyed. Nothing yet everything. Estrogen without Testosterone. Endorphins numbing the half severed body, Wasting undying energy to heal what cannot be heal. What’s the point? They stitched their bodies together, Softly pulling on the thread, Closing wounds and mending hearts. Masculine nearly lost life through lust, Pursing others with half a broken body, Attempting to conjoin with a body only meant for one. Masculine and Feminine, Together but not forgotten. Betrayal can never go away. The pain and suffering, Created but never destroyed. Feminine’s heart remained hard. Masculine’s mind remained foolish. Yet they were one. Perfect for the other, Wounds that separated them fitting together like a puzzle. They remained apart. Mind and body still gaped with holes, Trading such sacrifices for a compromise. Feminine’s hard heart and Masculine’s soft mind melded. Together. Forever Human.© 2016 J.MintonAuthor's Note
