Pieces

Pieces

A Poem by JMariah

Rummaging through the rubble,
slivered pieces that fell
when he said goodbye,
he looks for something salvageable
to hide in his wallet.
Perhaps he thinks he has the right
to pour over some carefully folded memory
whenever he himself is hurting.
Perhaps he only counts broken lovers
he leaves behind.

Oh yes. Lost in a room full of mirrors. It's all about the user. Sometimes we don't realize we are nothing to them until they are close enough to do damage.

I liked this short to the point poem. Thanks

Deep write..I sometimes wonder if they even think of the lost one at all or even care..memory is one gift from God that death of a love cannot destroy.. God bless Valentine

I really like this and the image of someone rummaging through papers of lost relationships etc. It seems that you could continue this and add more to this poem; perhaps describing the papers who they represent either to him or to you. Good job nonetheless.
