Memories to Cherish
On arriving at the cottage I felt one with nature The breeze whispered to me And before I could answer The trees waved And the daisies bowed their heads in greeting The mighty spruce stood defiant in the breeze but cast a friendly shadow; a protector I unpacked hastily so I could sit and marvel at the absolute peace The birds sang my favorite songs The squirrel screamed for whatever I might offer and A bashful fawn came out to munch And to show its childlike innocence Memories to cherish.
