IncantationA Poem by Jeremy Baker
जय -ुरुदेव ॐ
Jai guru deva, ohmmm ...
And so my tuneless chant rambles and drones to a one-time iconoclast and idealist, now just an imaginary image, fading fast and falling out of sight.
Jai guru deva, ohmmm ...
Happenstance has substituted martyrs' sacrifices long, long, long ago. Draconian mud brown dust and deserted, desecrated graves are anathema to youthful, wasted and futile idealism.
Jai guru deva, ohmmm ...
The three crosses on the far horizon, still out of reach, still staring onto the vast infinity of indifference, germane to nothing, neither greatness nor generality, just a mindless, numbing humming in the wind.
