'Til Kingdom ComeA Poem by JLily98When I look at him, I see him Of course a future is painted within my eyes Stare long enough and you can see it when my pupils dilate, when they change even the slightest tint But that will never be certain A kingdom-he’s building in fear of being overthrown But, what’s a King without a Queen But most importantly- protect him But that will never be certain He’d wake up to her every morning Thanking God he risked it all for them She’d kiss him every day Thanking God they chose to stay But that will never be certain
only they know She’d have the Queen’s wisdom and her King’s strength She’d be his only weakness with the first look But that will never be certain They’d teach their prince the ways only they know He’d have his Queen’s compassion and the King’s logic He’ll learn to protect those he loves But that will never be certain Their kingdom will be warped, cracked and chiseled with History, Love, Hurt, Compassion, Devotion, But it will stand and remain until they pass it down to their own But that will never be certain When I look at him, I see us Of course a future is painted within his mind Stare long enough and you can see it when his smile appears just looking at me, when his eyes show even the slightest emotion But that will never be certain © 2018 JLily98Author's Note
