I wonder if Superman gets tired...

Superman

by Jeremy LeWayne

I wonder if Superman gets tired,
if all the saving gets old at all?
I wonder if you can see the exhaustion through Kent's black frames
from rescuing anyone who comes to call?

I wonder if his hands are worn?
I wonder if his back grows weak,
if the joy of wanting to help becomes burden,
if the Man of Steel just needs a little sleep?

I wonder if Superman gets tired,
if the fire in his heart grows cold?
I wonder if Superman gets tired,
if being everyone's hero gets old?

I was sitting on my back porch swing enjoying my morning cup of coffee and bourbon battling my usually bouts with depression, when this suddenly appeared. Hope you enjoy.
