Blue Moon Passing

Blue Moon Passing

A Poem by John Sullivan

blue moon
passing

a field
for
thrashing

a time
for
fasting

no more

two hearts
asking

sorrows
collapsing

voices singing

from
a
score

it's love's
tasking

feelings
lasting

like grains
of
sand

amassing

on
shore

razor blade lines
mapping

tattooed wrists
contrasting

a feeling

that shakes me

to
my
core

wit and wisdom
and
all
such
trappings

all my
fears
relaxing

her heart

bridge
surpassing

the river

of our distance

and
all
our
wars

what is
what
will

be

and all things

everlasting

scratch
the
surface

of all
the
things

I'm
still
lacking

and embrace

all
that
the

future

has
in
store

This to me reads like a song Rodriguez would sing, while telling it how like it is and not papering over the cracks like some that will remain nameless from the hit parade of pop, that ate itself snd sold its soul.
