Equinox

Equinox

A Poem by John Sullivan

day light
day break

sunrise
sunset

day and night
in equal measure

darkness weighs me down
heavy in my mind

grace abounds
another mystery to find

satellites
and distant constellations

rise again
a sleeping nation

my dim fascination

disintegration

The Solstice is very finely penned in this poem of few words, John. I love how the fina, lntwo lines of the poem though rhyming with each other are separateca nd not part of the couplet scheme! The Equinox affects different people in different ways and the poem shows the dark side of equal day and night. Feelings are well expressed. Lovely work! Thank you for sharing, John...

This seems to be a poem opposites. Day night sun rise sun set. Each with an equal part to play. Until disintegration

Just my thoughts on this poem

The last word in this one seems out of place. The preceding lines, with one exception, seem to reflect, if not elation, at least satisfaction. Then that last word, disintegration. Not getting it.
