The Ocean

to dive into the waters of life

or merely walk its banks

anxiety indecision running rank

Hamlet's dilemma

this ship almost sank

to jump on in

or wade its shoals

walking on eggshells

or burning coal

the ocean is a thousand faces deep

Lord knows its waters break upon my stone

and life into my black and white does seep

color all around me

feeling music

it's timbre and tone...
