BrokenA Poem by JLMatthewsA poem from a while ago
Is it possible to break
That which was already broken?
When it all comes down to it
Do they matter, those words spoken?
Every morning I awake
I remember your hand in mine
Is it my fault, or cruel fate’s,
That our destinies intertwine
When scared its you I think of
Even though I try forgetting
Though I know I should move on
To hear of her is upsetting
But its far to call it love
I’m just misguided after all
I’m the one who it stopped it, yet
I still await your loving call
In the end, all that matters
To me, is to be loved, I think
Broken souls take any love
Yet mem’ries send me to the brink
Give hearts on silver patters
Just ready for a great breaking
I’ll take any hearts it seems
Whether they be worth the taking
For eternity we part
I’ll not ruin you any more
We’re just friends, and I need love
So I’ll leave you forever more
‘Cuz you didn’t break my heart
Sincerely are these words spoken
But how I wish you could have
Shown that my heart’s not so broken
