The Castle HallsA Poem by KimA short story in poem form. Let me know what you think of it :)
She lived in the Castle Halls of old,
with many friends, her story told. Years & years they lived together, living happily, merrily none the better. Once they stole a dragon's hoard, and were chased over land and mountains broad. Another time they planned a feast, a party unlike any other for the great beast They stayed awake for days to no end, another dare was sleeping outside a monster's den They thought the end naught but a silly notion, filling the Castle halls of old with laughter, life and motion Yet time passed the halls, though not unkind, but time does not govern a life denied. One by one they were plucked from life, one by one they left her behind. Their graves of stone, their frozen smiles... when left alone, she would wander for miles. A shadow fell, she left her home, seeking solitude & hope outside it's dome. But memories dear yet linger here, in the Castle Halls of old
