What heights may I reachA Poem by KimAn poem I found among my old notes It's about the will to be yourself in a society who kinda shuns it
Can I spread my wings and take flight?
Can I thrive in anarchy that resides in my soul? Or must I conform to law and order, a copy of everyone else? What can you see? What can you understand? I'm not the angel you want me to be. Please don't turn your back! Can you not see? Can you not understand? My heart was not meant to suffocate, and neither is yours. A storm that once raged opened my eyes, I see it now; My wings were never cut, only bound by unseen rope I can breathe now, so please do not chain my mind! Let me show you what I see, let me show you the heights I can reach! A world re-coloured, amazingly alight! Please, may I spread my wings and take flight?
