For what we fight for

In this human world, well at least what's left of it. They taught us that we are strong, we never give up and thanks to that strength, we don’t surrender for nothing. That’s bullshit, we are the weakest in all the universe. Sure sometimes we have the courage to pull some lucky s**t and celebrate, but in reality we are weak. Why I say this? Well let's talk about me! If you are reading this the right way, you can understand that I've been showing no fear and no mercy in the beginning of the this fucked up story and went so crazy, that I shot Nate in the foot, I mean who the f**k shoots his cousin? Well he is kind of a dick so I'll probably do it again. As I was saying I am also weak; my weakness is seeing the people that I love suffer or died. Why am I telling you this? What's the purpose, well is because your going to be seeing a Josh who turn from a heartless a*****e, to a caring, loving, happy guy.... In other words a f*****g p***y.

We made it to Guaynabo, in other words we are half hour away from San Juan, F**K YEAH. After a while we started to get sleepy, it's been a while since we haven't had a good night sleep, so I told the group to camp up in the mountains. After an hour of climbing a mountain we finally made it. Most of the group were complaining, just because I made them climb a stupid mountain.

Nate: Josh! Why did we need to go up here?

Josh: (smiling) You'll see, you're going to love it.

Nate: Dude! Come on, I f*****g climb this piece of s**t mountain tell us. I'm tired!

Windelys: (motherly tone) Your tired because you don’t workout. I told you to work out but you don’t listen. Workout Nate!

Nate: Babe come on!

Jorge: Ha! Nate how's it feel to be the weakling of the group?

Nate: N***a I am not the weakest one, I'm just tired and hungry.

Lorelys: Don’t worry guys Lilliana and Natalia and I are going to cook this pig we found on our way up.

Nate: Yes! Thank you!

Josh: Alright guys while the girls cook, we are going built tents. Let's Go!

While the girls were cooking dinner, us guys, and Nate are building a campfire and making tents. Jorge and Nate were in charge of the tents and Kevin I went to get wood, yeah we had the hardest job because we have to go down the mountain and then up, F**k me. We were looking for wood, and in that moment, Kevin felt the need to talk.

Kevin: Thank You Josh!

Josh: Thank you? For what?

Kevin: Thank you for bringing my sister to me. I'm happy that she is alive.

Josh: You shouldn’t thank me, she was the one who saved my life when I was fighting that special ops guy.

There was silence for five minutes. After that Kevin ask me a question.

Kevin: Did you change?

Josh: What do you mean?

Kevin: I don’t know, you look happy. It's freaking me out.

Josh: What I can't be happy? That’s f**k up bro.

Kevin: Is weird dude! Before that fight you were always angry and being a jerk to us. You were heartless. Than you came back and you look happy, like you were change. What happen?

Josh: Well let's just say that on the way here, someone help me change the attitude and made me realize  that I shouldn’t change what I was.

Kevin:  Did you told her about Carol?

Josh: Yeah, I told her on the road. It was hard to say but I did it. She then told me something that I needed to hear.

Kevin:   What she said?

Josh: She told me that I shouldn’t change my ways. I should honor Carol by being the man that she made me be.

Kevin look at me with a serious face and gave me a slap in the head.

Josh: What the hell! Why you slap me? That f*****g hurt

Kevin: (angry) Because I told you that weeks ago and you ignore me; But no! When Lorelys tell's you this, you finally understand. F**k you, you really don’t love me.

Josh: Kevin you need to understand something. That time you told me I didn’t pay attention on what you said, I was consume by grieve and hate. Your sister save my life, twice, both outside and inside. I understood what she was trying to tell me. Plus if I didn’t listen, she would of kick my a*s.

Kevin: Mjm, she should of kick your a*s. Jerk!

Josh: Hey! Bro's before Hoe's

Kevin: Don’t start with that. You broke the bro code!

Josh: Are you going to keep bringing this up?

Kevin: Yes! We are brothers; brothers don’t fall in love with...

Josh: Yes I know and I told you that I didn’t expected that to happen. I mean, come on dude! I had feelings for her, s**t happens you need to stop bringing this s**t again.

Kevin:  I know you very well Josh, your like me, in fact you like Ted, you still haven't given up yet.

Josh: Stop comparing my life with How I Met Your Mother!

He kept arguing about a situation that I am not going to bring up in this story, maybe some other time where all makes sense. In that moment Jorge and Nate finish building the tents. They sat down and started talking.

Nate: Looks like you and Lilliana are going well.

Jorge: (smile) Yeah man, I think she is the one man. She is just amazing! I have never met a girl like this before. I can't explain this, you wouldn’t understand.

Nate: Yes I do, that’s how I feel about Windelys. I have never had a girl who can make me feel the way I am feeling right now. For the first time in my life, I can finally say how love really feels, it's amazing.

Jorge: Yeah dude, I know that Kevin feel the same way with Natalia. This was the best gift we got in my whole life.

Nate: You know it bro. It's too bad that Josh didn’t get a girl.

Jorge: Nah leave him like that bro, he is more focus on the group and killing the doctor. For now let's enjoy what we have.

Kevin and I arrive at the top of the mountain and made the campfire, to start cooking the food. The guys and I went far away from the camp, just to leave the girls alone for a while, so they can have there "girl talk".

Natalia: So Lorelys, are you from Aguada to?

Lorelys: That's right

Natalia: Oh ok then.

Lorelys kept looking at her and she saw that she wanted to ask her something.

Lorelys: What do you really want?

Natalia: ( Nervous) Oh... Well... Do you know if Kevin likes me?

Lorelys: Well I'm not sure since I literally didn’t know that you guys were talking or something. But I can tell you this; Kevin is the nicest guy I know and I don’t say it because he is my brother, I say it because it's true.

Natalia: I really like him, I just wanted to ask you if you can tell me a something about him.

Lorelys: If you want to know him, you should talk to him more. Get to know him yourself.

Natalia: Your right, thanks.

After that small talk, they all started talking together and having a good time cooking and getting to know Lorelys more. The girls loved her, especially Lilliana, they like almost the same stuff and connected very well.

Two hours has past and the food was done. The girls called us and we quickly ran over there. They served us the food so we sat down and started eating. We also had a good time. After eating we started talking about the plan.

Josh: So Jorge tell us what plan do you have.

Jorge: Here is the plan. When I was investigating in Dr. Bonilla's office, I have found a project that they were building a year ago in San Juan.

He showed us the blueprints of the project.

Windelys: What's that?

Jorge: These are walls that are protecting San Juan right now. They did all of this in years.

Kevin:  How the hell they pull that off in two months?

Jorge: Good question. Look at the ground, there are huge holes below the wall. Which means that they been working for this for sometime.

Lilliana: But why we didn’t see this before?

Jorge: That’s because they making these walls below the town.

Everyone look surprise of what Jorge just said. I was like what the f**k is this s**t, I mean underground walls? How is that possible?

Josh: How they made this happen?

Jorge: It looks like Dr. Bonilla have been  working years on this and when it was finally finish, he started to announce the cure making people think it was a cure. I still don’t know why the f**k he turn people into zombies. The point is, when it was ready he just raise the walls from the ground up.

Lorelys: Is there a way to go threw these walls?

Jorge: Yes! Here's the plan. In the walls there are four entrance, where there's two guards in each one watching the outside for zombies and for strangers. All we need to do is take out two of the guards in one door and then we can get in.

Josh: Ok then, what's the next step after that?

Jorge: After we get in, will blend in with the people who live there, but Nate and I will take the security guards clothes and pretend to work there. That way we can arm a bomb in one of the buildings as a distraction, so the guards can get over there and we can enter the doctor's base. After we are in there will set a bomb that can destroy the entire base.

Lorelys: Wait, where are we going to get a bomb?

Windelys: Leave that to me. I found some stuff to make not only two bombs, but a bomb that can be  as strong as an earthquake.

Josh: Jorge this plan is perfect, you really are the best strategist I've ever seen.

Jorge: Thanks bro, we can do this tomorrow in the afternoon, it's going to be perfect.

Everyone loved Jorge's plan, it was the perfect way to end this once and for all. But Lorelys was still having thoughts.

Lorelys: But what about the doctor? Are we going to kill him?

Jorge: He is going to die in the explosion.

Lorelys: But what happens if he escapes? Then all of this was for nothing.

Jorge: Well he won't escape, trust me.

Lorelys: Before destroying the base, we need to killed him first.

Jorge: Lorelys! There’s no time for this!

It started an argument about how it's going to end. Is not that Lorelys didn’t like the plan, she just wants to make sure that the doctor dies without escaping. Jorge and Lorelys started arguing. I left for a moment to think what should we do. They kept talking, it was a heavy argument but then Nate got in the way to support his friend Jorge.

Nate: Girl you should be quiet and let the pro's do their stuff.

Lorelys: Pro's I know for a fact that he is not going to die over there.

Nate: Shut up Lorelys, your just a 17 year old girl who still play with dolls and dresses like a s**t.

When she heard that, she quickly throw a punch at his face, causing Nate to fall into the ground. After that she walk away with tears on her face. Nate stood up and kept talking.

Nate: You know your lucky that you’re a girl. If you were a boy, I'll kick your a*s.

She stop for a moment and started crying. I could hear her crying for a while. Seeing Lorelys cry, made Kevin really angry. Kevin quickly push Nate and started fighting. Jorge tried to intervene in the fight, while the girls tried to hold back Nate and Kevin.

Kevin: Apologies to my sister, you coward.

Nate:  I'm not doing s**t, someone need to put her in place. She thinks she can join our group act like the leader of the group. F**k her!

I heard screaming from a distance, so I ran over there to see what was happening. When I arrived I saw Nate and Kevin fighting, Jorge and the girls trying to hold them back and Lorelys crying. I didn’t know what the f**k was going on, but I snap when I saw Nate hitting Kevin. I went towards Lorelys and ask her if she's ok; she didn’t answer.

Nate: Josh you need to control that b***h, teach her who is the boss. She thinks she could come here with her s****y clothes and f*****g boss us around.  

When I heard Nate telling me that I walk towards him. When I got there I hit him three time in the stomach, causing him to vomit. He quickly fell on the floor and started to vomit some nasty a*s stuff.

Josh: (angry) What the f**k is wrong with you Nate? Have you lost your mind.

Lorelys: (crying) Josh calm down.

Josh: No I am not calming down! Nate I swear if you ever talk like that to her again, I'll beat the s**t out of you.

I calm down for a moment and told him that he ever lay another finger at Kevin, I will kick him out of the group.

Nate: (suffering) Why are you protecting them so much?

Josh: I cared about them, a lot. Not only them, but you guys. We need to learn that we are now a family. Families work together and take care of each other, so if you are going keep this s**t... Get the f**k out.

Nate understood what I was saying; he told Kevin and Lorelys that he was sorry, they forgave him. After that they all sat down in the campfire and talk, meanwhile I went left to sit down by myself, just to look at the stars. Jorge saw me going away by myself, so he sat down with me.

Jorge: Are you ok bro?

Josh: Yes, just thinking...

Jorge: I can see that you have change Josh. Seeing you protecting them made me realize that there important people in your lives.

Josh: Kevin is my best friend, he always has my back. Lorelys is the same way, she's special; she a helps me change my past attitude and made me understand that I can't give up. She made me realize how much I love you guys even if I didn’t express it.  People who help you be a better person are really special and you never want to leave their side, you always be protecting them no matter what happens to you. If one of them are in danger, I will go and saved them, that’s what I fight for.

Jorge:  I know how that feel's! I have never found someone who can make me happy like Lilliana, she is amazing bro. If something ever happens to her, I'll do anything to help her.

Josh: Well that's why I am going to protect you guys no matter what.

Meanwhile from a distance, Eliezer was watching us since we got here. He found out who to capture and how to make me surrender. Eliezer got his knife and waited patiently to make a move.

Jorge left to be with Lilliana for a while, leaving me alone, watching the stars. Kevin was going to be with me for a while but Windelys called him to tell him to look for more wood, so he went down the mountain. I kept looking at the stars and thinking how beautiful they are. Lorelys sat down next to me and watch the stars with me.

Lorelys: Beautiful aren't they?

Josh: You know it! It's interesting how something so beautiful can be seen on this f**k up world.

Lorelys: Sometime the most wonderful things are in a world that is so cruel, that way we can see that this world isn't so mess up, just the people who are in it.

Josh: That’s some good philosophy s**t right there Lorelys.

We kept quiet for a few minutes, just enjoying the view of the stars and the moon. The moon was so big and beautiful, I love watching the stars, it's basically my happy place. Few minutes have pass, Lorelys look at me for a moment told me thank me.

Lorelys: Thanks for having my back

Josh: You’re my best friend Lorelys, I wont let nobody hurt you or Kevin.

We started talking about random stuff like we always do, talking about music, anime and other kinds of stuff. Its amazing how in this fucked up world, you can find people who can understand you and make you feel happy. I guess everyone can find someone who can help you be a better person in life.

At that moment Kevin was looking for wood. He then heard a sound and turn around to see if it was one of us, but there was nobody there.

Kevin: Guys? Are you there? This isn’t funny.

Out of nowhere Eliezer appeared; he grab Kevin by the neck with one hand and on his other was knife. Kevin tried to escape, but Eliezer was to strong. Kevin stop fighting.

Eliezer: I am going to kill your whole group, one by one if you don’t do what I say.

Kevin: Ok, just tell me what do you want.

Eliezer: When I give the word you are going to call you sister and tell her to come over here.

Kevin: What do you want with her?

Eliezer: Don’t worry, I am not going to harm her, Yet

Kevin didn’t have a choice, he was to scared to keep fighting so he told Eliezer he would do it. Meanwhile on top of the mountain, Jorge and Lilliana join me and Lorelys on watching the stars.  We were having fun talking the four of us about random stuff and everything. Honestly I love does two, there such awesome annoying people. The four of us got along really well, basically good friends.

Lilliana: So Josh, what are we going to do after the mission?

Josh: Well we can take San Juan and make it our home. I mean there's a lot of people trap there, being the doctor' s slave. We will free them and rebuild this country.

Lorelys: Josh that sounds a lot of work.

Josh: Hey you can't complain! Is going to be a better life than this.

Jorge: He is actually right, we can make Puerto Rico better now.

At that moment Kevin started to called Lorelys...

Kevin: Lorelys!

Lorelys: Yeah?

Kevin: Could you come down here please, I need help with all this wood.

Lorelys: (annoyed) Ugh fine, I'm coming. I'll be right back guys.

She stood up and started walking down the mountain to help Kevin with some wood, or at least she thinks.

Jorge: Josh, Lorelys told us about Carol.

Josh: (surprise) Oh did she? I am going to kill her.

Jorge: Bro I understand, I will be the same way. But look now, you got a family. Your best friend are still alive and now you got new friends. Just be happy. Who knows, maybe someone else will appear in your life and fall in love again.

Josh: I am happy, because of them. It's good to feel this way. Feeling love again, is the best feeling there is. Like I always say Jorge, you never know who you fall in love with and makes you feel special.

  I kept talking to Jorge and Lilliana for a while. Lorelys made it down the mountain, she started calling for her brother, but he didn’t answer. She thought it was a prank that Kevin is trying to pull, until she found him unconscious on the floor. She ran towards him to check if he was ok. She heard him breathing. Lorelys turn around to called the group, but Eliezer quickly put his hand on her mouth.

Lorelys grabs Eliezer's hand, twisted and started hitting him in the stomach. Eliezer dodge her punches and throw her on the ground. She throw dirt on his face causing him  to be blind for a few seconds. Lorelys threw a kick in mid air, Eliezer fell to the ground. When she turn around to scream, Eliezer shot a tranquilizer dart on her neck. She fell to the floor, Eliezer grab her and left a phone and a note next to Kevin.

We all got together in the campfire started singing random songs and everything. We were having a great time as a group. Half an hour later Kevin appears, running towards us with a phone and a letter.

Kevin: (desperate) Guys! Wheres Lorelys?

Josh: I thought she was with you?

Kevin: Oh no, this can't be! He took her!

Josh:  Kevin calm down who took her?

Kevin: I don’t know, I didn’t see his face. But he left this letter saying to give it to you and dial the number that’s there.

I grab the phone and look at the number, I got to say I was really nervous. Who could of taken  Lorelys, but the bigger question is why? I dialed the number. The person answered.

Eliezer: Hello Josh! It's good to see you alive.

I was surprise for the voice I was hearing. it was Eliezer's voice.

Josh: Eliezer?

Eliezer: I'm surprise that you remember me, after the beating I gave you.

Josh: (mad) Why you have Lorelys? Tell me!

Eliezer: Relax, I am not going to hurt her; Yet.

Josh: (calm) What do you want?

Eliezer: Isn't that obvious, you. Dr. Bonilla wants you to come to San Juan, alone.

Josh: What the f**k he wants with me?

Eliezer: He just wants to give you a surprise. You got 18 hours to be there, if you don’t, I am going to use this pretty girl as my punching bag. The last punching bag I have died, I guess I hit him too hard on his face that made his skull crack.

Josh: (scared) Fine... Just don’t hurt her.

Eliezer: I promise I won't. Its funny, here I thought that you didn’t cared for no one, than I found this girl, if I'm correct she is also your best friend right? Now I wanted to take your friend Kevin but I know for sure if I take his sister, not only will it ruined you, but your friend as well. Then you got to see him everyday, suffering for his sister death; for me that’s what I called entertainment. Could you imagine Josh, me torturing this girl every single day until she dies? Can you imagine her screams, trying to see if someone could hear her? I know that making her suffer will make you hurt a lot..

Once again you have show yourself weak. Remember 18 hours. You better hurry Josh or you going to lose her.

He hung up, and I drop the phone. Everyone heard what he said, they were surprise, cause what they saw in me, was weakness, they saw a person who is giving up. Kevin was holding tears and wanted to go there now, but I said no.

Jorge: No? What do you mean no.

Josh: We are not going!

Everyone started arguing me, because I told them that we are not going to save Lorelys. They thought I was going to rush over there right now, but I said no.

Kevin: Dude she is my sister! She is your friend! Why aren't we going?

Josh:  I am not going to risk my life for some girl. It’s not worth it, let's just move on.

Jorge: (upset) But you just said that you will do anything for them, for her!

Josh: Yeah well I lied, I really don’t care about her, she is just a chick. She means nothing for me.

When Kevin heard what I just said, he got mad. He gave me a punch in the face. I felt his anger, but I didn’t hit him back. He look at me pity, feeling sorry for my decision.

Jorge: Kevin, calm down, he already made his choice. Tomorrow will go and save her.

Everyone look at me with hatred, but I didn’t cared. They all went to bed, Kevin kept looking at the stars, crying for his sister. You know sometimes I wish that I had a cold heart, but I never did. I mean analyze everything that has happen. If I really had a cold heart, I wouldn’t sacrifice myself to protect the others, I wouldn’t help Jorge when he was trap on that house, I could of use him as bait. I would of left the group alone at the supermarket; but I didn’t.

The sun was rising, Natalia was the first one to open her eyes. She stood up and saw everyone sleeping, except for me. She went to Jorge and woke him up.

Natalia: Jorge! Where's Josh?

He look around and didn’t see me. He woke Kevin  up and ask, but he didn’t know either. When Kevin stood up, he saw a note on stuck on his shirt. It said" I went to San Juan, I am going to

save her. I truly cared for her, but I also l cared for you guys and I don’t want anything to happen to you.

So I lied and left early in the morning. Don’t come and get out of this country. You guys will always be in my hearts.-Josh"

Nate: (angry) That mother f****r! He trick us!

Kevin: What do we do? He is going to die Jorge.

Jorge: I don’t know bro, I don’t know.

I travel for few hours in the car, that’s right I took their car. I don’t want them to get here fast, let them walk until they find another car. You probably think I'm stupid for just going by myself and giving up. The truth is, I really don’t care what happens to me, as long my friends are safe, I'll be happy. I made it to San Juan, boy that wall was f*****g huge; its two times bigger than the Mexican border. I got out of the car and saw Eliezer waiting for me. He had this f*****g smile on his face, it made me want b***h slap his f*****g face.

Eliezer: I knew that you would come.

Josh: (serious) Where is she?

Eliezer: At the base, with Dr. Bonilla. Don’t worry I haven't touch her...yet.

He tied my hands on my back, and took me to the base. When I was inside I saw everything empty, there was no one around.

Josh: Where's the people?

Eliezer: There in Haiti, working for us to built a dictatorship. But don’t worry about the civilians, worry about yourself.

I saw how the town was, it was all f**k up, filled with zombies that were tied with chains and in jail cells. What the f**k was going on here? Why are they capturing zombies? What's the purpose? Why the f**k am I asking this to the f*****g readers? I don’t know!

We've arrive at the base, it was built next on a bridge, in other words the base was surround by water. I got in the elevator, heading to the fifth floor. I don’t know what was going to happen, all I know is, I'm f**k.  I got off the elevator and enter a white room,  it was so damn bright, I needed sunglasses on cause damn this room was white. I see an old f**k bastar, looking at me with a smile on his face. It was the doctor.

Dr. Bonilla: Welcome Josh, I've been expecting you.

Josh: So you are Dr. Bonilla? I expected a stronger person, and younger.

Dr. Bonilla: Yes and yet I have someone who you cared about.

Josh: (serious) Where is she?

He told one of the guards to show her to me. The guard press a button, where one side of the wall was actually a mirror. I saw Lorelys tied in a chair. She could see me and I could see her, but we couldn’t hear each other.

Josh: Ok so you have me, let her go now.

Dr. Bonilla: I'll do that, but first let me ask you something. Do you know why you're here?

Josh: I'm assuming that your one of those old perverts who likes to rape teenagers.

The doctor look at me very serious, went towards me and slap me in the face. I wanted to laugh because that was like a b***h slap, no strength.

Dr. Bonilla: Ive been researching for years the human mind and how it functions. In 1834 I went to Haiti and talk to a witch. He told me that he can control other people's body by turning them into zombies. But to do that you must learn the dark magics of death but to that, I needed to cheat death.

Josh: Wait hold up what do you mean 1834? Are you saying....

Dr. Bonilla:  I am immortal...

Holy f**k, this old relic is immortal? Didn’t see that coming...

Dr. Bonilla: So after I learned to cheat death, I spent years and years of studying a way to control the human brain without killing them, but as you can see, they are turned into zombies. So I kept a few of them to find a way to reverse them to their normal ways... There's no hope.

Josh: No offense but I really don’t care. I'm actually getting kind of bored so can you please skip everything and tell me what do you want with me.

He got piss because I told him to shut the f**k up, I mean come one I really don’t give a f**k!

Dr. Bonilla: Fine! I've been working on a project, turning a normal human into a ultimate weapon where I can control it by giving it orders. But sadly most subject I've tried died, but then I check your records and you are a perfect match.

The guards hold me steady, I tried to break through, but they were too strong. Dr. Bonilla went towards me and inject me with some kind of liquid s**t on me. They throw me where Lorelys was.

Lorelys: Josh are you ok?

Josh: I don’t know, I feel weird. What the f**k did you just do to me?

Dr. Bonilla: Oh you will find out, all I can't tell you this my dear Lorelys; say goodbye to Josh.

Lorelys: Wait, what?

Josh: (pain) Ah!

Something is happening to me, I feel something controlling me from the inside. It f*****g hurts! I feel power flowing into my body. What the f**k Is going on with me? What's happening?

Lorelys: (surprise) Oh My God Josh you're eyes are turning red.

  I can't keep fighting it.... It's too f*****g powerful... I CAN'T HOLD IT!

Lorelys: Why the f**k your getting bigger? Josh? JOSH!
