Free Fall

Free Fall

A Poem by Queen Extreme of the ImagInation

Staring at the mountain rising high above the raging water

Inhale deeply and make the climb to the top

The scenery changes

The wind will howl

Steady

Continue climbing

Your heart pounding

Stare down into the foamy flecks of water

It is now or never

Jump

Or don’t jump

The feel of the spray in your face

Looking down into the raging sea

Crazy

Close your eyes and inhale

Take a step

And down you go

Hearing the wind whistle in your ears

Extend your arms above your head

One false move

And sudden death

The water approaches

At alarming speed

Close your eyes

Feel the sting

You just free fell off a cliff

And lived to tell the tale

Swim to shore and look at the cliff

Climb up again

Pulse racing

Free

Feel the passion for high diving

Reminds me of a certain part of a book we both love. Great poem, keep it.
