ReminiscentA Poem by JHByrdReminiscent -J.H. Byrd- We found the boat in the late afternoon, when our souls were old and our bodies new. Silently as the flowers we bloomed. Our vessel lay always ready for our journeys to forgotten isles and perilous deeds. Reminisce. Beneath the moon, tomorrow’s wake we adjourned and pressed on with dreams always yearning. The sandy walls tapered high as we settled our fortress sometime within the night; together we danced beneath the starlight. Adventure beckons to those who call and mysteries unwind beneath every grain of sand. The wonder of imagination burnt beautiful and bright, scaling beyond mountains and such dizzying heights. Our tales would echo out through the valleys and lands not to be contained within our sandy walls Alas, every hero reaches their zenith. Returning home tending to the land he’s always known until slowly and silently he grows old. Ageless we walked these tempered shores as Remembrance was lost upon frothy waves and shipwrecked from its tragic course. Leaving us to behold the beauty and wonder of forgotten lore. © 2020 JHByrd |
