Bees don't differentiate

when they pollinate 

while many men will only chase

 ladies who are fair of face

Boy, isn't that the truth! Funny how women aren't as particular about looks. We want a man that can reach our soul, stir us from within... Not usually caring about what he looks like on the outside (although if attractive that is a bonus I suppose)
While they are conditioned to look at the wrappings before they decide to find the woman within...

Thanks again, KL. This one I wrote just for fun. I was learning to write tanka at the time and was just playing around with words and trying to end up with a punch line. That is really a no-no in the tanka world, so I don't do that much nowadays. Thanks again for reviewing my work.

So true... It's funny, I was having a conversation with a friend that ended up on this topic. We were discussing the idea of evolution, and how our species is really trained to work towards the most physically attractive pairings. For me, though, I have found that it is what is on the inside that counts, and perhaps we should be more like those bees...just find what is "sweet" and leave it at that. :)

Sweet is always better than sour, that's for sure, Sarah. Maybe men are programmed to look at the outside rather than the inside because they aren't as genetically tied to monogamy as we women are. Who cares if your love interest is a really nice person if you're not going to hang around very long in any case? Thanks for leaving your thoughts behind, I always appreciate your reviews.
