I recently learned of a new poetry genre - one word poems, and was inspired to write this one for my friend, Lydi, by the beauty of the many butterflies I had the privilege of seeing at the Butterfly Conservatory in Deerfield, MA. Lydi is a big fan of butterflies if you didn't already know.

What a beautiful way to describe Lydi. She is a butterfly - beautiful, elegant...fluttering through our lives giving us the gift of the gorgeous images she creates with her poetry...but even more than these images is the feeling her poetry leaves us with - beautiful - just like a butterfly! Whenever I happen to see one, I am reminded of Winnie the Pooh...he always called them "flutterbys" . Lydi will be thrilled, I'm sure! How wonderfully thoughtful of you, Joyce!

I believe that butterflies are the Lord's most beautiful creation, Frieda. The legs of this little darling (as well as her wings, of course) enchant me!
