he gave me

he gave me

A Poem by Joyce S. Greene
"

This is an Ekphrastic tanka, written to present my take on one of Anne Geddes' lovely baby photographs.

"

he gave me

a bouquet of tulips

in early spring

peeking from each blossom

a baby not yet born

It is just so very beautiful. Tulips, just before they are ready to open have their own special aura. The babies in the pictures are just too sweet. The whole thing comes together splendidly.

Thanks, Ron. Less is more in my book. I really appreciate your reviews - they mean a lot to me.
Had you not mentioned Anne Geddes' photography, I'm not certain those darlin' little heads would have been that noticeable! How brilliantly you composed this, Joyce! The tanka is lovely!
